The specification for the psychodynamic approach
For the psychodynamic approach it will be necessary to focus upon:
• the main assumptions of the approach
• how the psychodynamic approach can be applied in one form of therapy (either dream therapy or free association);
• how the psychodynamic approach can be applied to Freud's theory of personality development;
• the strengths and weaknesses of the psychodynamic approach;
• the similarities and/or differences of this approach compared to others(compare and contrast);
• an explanation and evaluation of the methodology of the psychodynamic approach.

Re: The specification for the psychodynamic approach
Freud is unsupported by evidence, so we don't know if he is right or wrong and no way of telling.

Hi Shortbread, welcome to the forum.
Yes, a lot of my students would agree with you about Freud being a little bit mad but interesting.

No for the exam you will only be asked about certain areas, but you need to know them all because we don't know what the questions are.
